The Cytotoxic effect of an Ethanol extract of Momordica Charantia, Kuguacin-J and Cisplatin on healthy MCF-10A and MCF-7 and MDAMB-231 breast cancer cell lines employing In Vitro assays

Traditional medicines, derived from plants, could present alternative treatment strategy for cancer therapy. One such plant is Momordica charantia (MC) which possesses anti-carcinogenic properties. This study investigated the anticancer effect of an ethanol extract MC fruit, Kuguacin-J (K-J), isolated compound leaves and cisplatin, either alone or combination on healthy MCF-10A mammary cells compared with breast MCF-7 MDAMB-231 cell lines. Cell viability was tested using 8 μg/mL 80 doses extract, K-J cisplatin individually combined 24 48 hours. Caspase-3- activity measured in MDA-MB-231 established methods. The results revealed that had no as to induced dose time-dependent death. Similarly, death at high concentration both time points, while only induce after hours only. During therapy, enhanced when In cells, three drugs, combined, evoked significant points. All dose, elicited increase caspase-3- untreated cells. can elicit caspase–3-activity MDA-MB-231cells
